Michael is the creator of the University Grade Calculator and the educational philosophy behind its design. With a background in engineering and over six years of experience as an international school mathematics teacher, Michael brings a unique perspective to educational tools, one that prioritizes clarity, student empowerment, and actionable feedback.

About Michael

Michael is a dedicated mathematics educator with a passion for making complex concepts accessible and engaging.

His teaching journey has taken him from Cairo, Egypt, to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, working in international schools and teaching a range of subjects from middle school mathematics to Advanced Placement (AP) Statistics and AP PreCalculus.

Known for his energetic and student-centered approach, Michael believes that the best learning happens when students are challenged to think critically and take ownership of their progress. His expertise spans:

Michael has worked with prestigious international schools across Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, including the following:

  • Al Yasat Private School (Abu Dhabi, UAE): Secondary Mathematics Teacher, teaching AP Precalculus and Pre-AP Geometry with Statistics.
  • Sharjah American International School, Dubai (Dubai, UAE): Math Teacher, teaching AP Statistics, secondary mathematics, and middle school mathematics.
  • The International School of Elite Education (Cairo, Egypt): Math Teacher, teaching PreCalculus and middle school mathematics, and serving as head of student council.
  • The International School of Egypt (ISE) (Cairo, Egypt): Middle School ICT Teacher, teaching ICT and computer science/programming to grades 6–9.

Michael holds a Master of Arts in Education from Liverpool John Moores University in the UK, where his research focused on project-based learning in mathematics education.

He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from The American University in Cairo.
